Small in-4, later (19th c.) green half-chagrin binding, spine with 4 nerves finely decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons, (rubbing to headpieces and upper jaws). Charming collection of 51 pages, including an engraved title-front with the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam and 50 engraved plates, each with 12 or 15 emblems and facing mottoes, translated by H. Offelen into Latin, French, Spanish, Italian, English, Flemish and German. Pl. 50 and 51 are inverted, as is the 1st warning printed on the back of pl. 49. Minor foxing on f. 3 only, margin of q. ff. a little short (slight loss of text on f. 8), pl. 40 a little cracked (due to strong printing on copper plate). Second edition, (the original 1691 edition has only 49 ff.). A FINE COPY OF THIS RARE WORK.
