Rubbing to bindings, small brown ring at foot of upper spine, 2 corners slightly dulled, good cond. Elsewhere. Monumental work on French scientific and military exploration, organized by geographer and explorer Fernand Foureau and Commandant Lamy, carried out between 1898 and 1900 across the Sahara towards the French Sudan. It follows the mission organized by Paul Flatters, which ended tragically in 1881 in southern Algeria.
