In-8, contemporary half-brown calf with very small corners, smooth spine nicely decorated with gilt and blind tooling, 434 pp.-[1]f. First edition, with 3 figures by Tony Johannot engraved by Brevière and printed hors texte on Chine (Vicaire, VII-1058). Scattered foxing, very slight angular wetness to first pages. A fine copy with a signed and dated autograph letter from Alfred de Vigny to the Prince de Polignac (1780-1847). Provenance: Bibliothèque du Duc et de la Duchesse de la Rochefoucauld-Doudeauville with their armorial bookplate.
