In-4, full eggplant morocco, 4-nerved spine, gilt caissons, gilt fleuron in center, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, repeated inside, gilt head, covers and spine preserved, (signed. Asper in Geneva). Illustrated by Sylvain Sauvage with 20 color etchings and 20 woodcuts in the text. Artist's copy, specially printed on Japon impérial for the painter and engraver Edouard CHIMOT, enriched with a black suite of the hors-texte with remarks and an original engraved copperplate of one of the etchings. [ATTACHED]: the publisher's subscription leaflet (bound in fine) and a menu illustrated by Sylvain Sauvage. A superb copy, perfectly established by the Swiss bookbinder Asper (Monod, II-9532).
