Two Near Eastern bronze cups, early 1st millennium B.C. 1) Two-piece bronze cup with a widely projecting upper part, inserted into a separately worked lower part with decorative zones consisting of rows of small bosses, separated by bulges. The lower part slightly protruding towards the base. Covered with incrustations and oxides, with a clearly visible red-brown cuprite layer over larger areas. Small cracks and professionally reattached small chips to the rim. No missing parts or additions. Height 12.8 cm. 2) Bronze beaker with recessed wall and slightly domed base. Two bulges in the center. Covered with incrustations, otherwise intact. Height 9 cm. Old labels with handwritten inscription on the bottom of both cups. Provenance: Frankfurt private collection. Acquired in April 2016 at Hermann Historica (auction 73, lot 4519). Previously Belgian private collection. Condition: II -
