A Greek bowl with black-figure painting, 1st half of the 5th century B.C. Bowl with a pedestal base and laterally attached, upward-curving handles as well as a clearly offset, slightly outward-facing rim. Black-figure painting in the style of the so-called Haimon group. The inside is completely covered in glossy black. The same scene depicted twice on the outer sides: a man chasing a woman between two palmettes. Very well preserved on one side, on the other the black glossy tone has flaked off in the upper half, the preliminary drawing still clearly visible. Hairline crack and glued breaks in the area of one handle, otherwise intact. Height 10.8 cm, width from handle to handle 27.6 cm. Provenance: Frankfurt private collection. Acquired in April 2015 at Hermann Historica (auction 72, lot 4560). Previously South German private collection, acquired in the 1980s in the art trade. Condition: II - III
