14 Neolithic stone tools, mostly hatchets, circa 4th - 3rd millennium B.C.
Collection of Neolithic hatchets from various regions together with some other tools. 1) Five Scandinavian flint hatchets of different shapes, chipped and resharpened to varying degrees. One piece inserted in a reconstructed wooden mount. Length 12.3 - 14 cm. 2) Blunt-nosed axe made of brown rock with the inscription "China". Length 19 cm. 3) Blunt-nosed axe made of black rock with the inscription "Bretagne". Length 17 cm. 4) Three blunt-nosed axes from Morocco, two inset axes and one piece with a central notch running all the way around. Length 7 - 8 cm. 5) Pointed-necked axe marked "South Sahara". Length 14.3 cm. 6) Runner stone. Length 9 cm. 7) Two so-called "shoe last wedges" marked "Mauretania". Curved upper side of the cutting edge, flat ground underside. Length 9.5 - 14.2 cm.
Provenance: Rhenish private property, taken over from the father's collection.
