A Chinese set of travel cutlery, 19th century
Richly decorated sheath (wooden core) with an inserted pair of chopsticks with silver caps. Between richly embossed silver mountings, bone plates with fine engravings on both sides, flanked by overlays of imitation tortoiseshell. Brass locket and chape, attached fastening strap on the back. The knife that originally came with it lost. Missing parts. Length 27 cm.
