Arnulf de Bouché (1872 - 1945), "The Bather", German, 19th/20th century Oil on cardboard. Mysterious depiction of a young girl sitting on the stone edge of a pool of water in the forest. Leaning slightly backwards on her arms, she gently lets her crossed legs sink into the water. Signed "A. de Bouché" lower left. Slight nicks in the lower right corner, otherwise in immaculate condition. In a beige-turquoise wooden frame. Image dimensions approx. 55 x 43 cm, dimensions framed 68 x 56.5 cm. Arnulf de Bouché (1872 - 1945) was a German nude and genre painter from Munich. He studied at the Munich Art Academy, specializing in nude painting, and exhibited at the Glaspalast and the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. Today some of his works can be found in German museums (e.g. Stadtmuseum Nürnberg). Condition: I - II
