A large Congolese fetish figure of the Songye people
Massive, full-round figure carved from hardwood. The body decorated with numerous organic materials, including animal fur, horn, shells and various seeds. The round base and the brass-mounted head with somewhat rusty iron nails and plates. Rubbed. Shrinkage cracks and small losses. Height 103 cm.
