A pair of Gabonese/Congolese standing Kota (Mbete) reliquary figures
Pair of figures carved from wood and painted in color (including kaolin). Reliquaries carved in the shape of a male and female figure with eyes made of cowrie snails and small doors on the back. Each on a black wooden presentation base. Rubbed and somewhat bumped in places. Missing parts. Height w.S. approx. 72 cm and 75 cm.
