A ball-headed mace as a rank sign of the Gogo in Tanzania, 20th century
Straight stick carved in one piece from smooth hardwood with a stylized ball head. Reminiscent of the ball-headed mace, the typical cattle herder's weapon, such staffs are used by the Gogo as a sign of rank. The weapon character comes in handy, for example, for magic priests during ritual cleansing of evil forces. On a black presentation stand. Length o.S. approx. 55 cm.
