A ball-headed mace as a rank sign of the Gogo in Tanzania, 20th century Slightly curved staff carved from hardwood, ending in a protruding, stylized human head. Reminiscent of the ball-headed club, the typical cattle herder's weapon, such staffs are used as rank signs by the Gogo. The weapon character comes in handy, for example, for magic priests during ritual cleansing of evil forces. Slightly shrinkage cracked in the head area. On a black presentation stand. Length top side approx. 62 cm. Condition: II
