A porcelain figure showing General Seydlitz on horseback, Gustav Oppel, 1935 (design), Rosenthal Selb, 20th century (finish)
Porcelain. Depiction of the Prussian General Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz (1721 - 1773) after a drawing by Adolf von Menzel on a horse jumping over a broken wagon wheel and a drum. The underside with green manufactory mark of the Selb art department and model no. "1563". Base with artist's monogram. Reins, little finger and whistle broken off, sword glued, handle broken off (present). The general's abdomen and the horse's hindquarters poorly restored. Measures 23.5 x 20 x 9 cm. Cf.
