A pewter jug, Traunstein, circa 1700
Slightly conical body with finely twisted decorative bands. Ribbon handle, sculpted lily ornament at the base. Hinged lid with strap handle, monogrammed "GAE" on the top. Two oak cones inside. Struck master's mark of Franz Ärnhofer, who can be traced to Traunstein from 1697, at the base of the handle. Height 22.5 cm.
