A Russian icon showing the Smolenskaya Mother of God with silver oklad, late 19th century (icon), Kostroma, 1898 (oklad)
Wooden panel with two sponki on the reverse. Tempera on chalk ground, verso with fabric cover. Heavily embossed and engraved silver oklad with gilded nimbuses. The rim hallmarked with the fineness "84", the hallmark "??183?" and the master's mark "KR" in Cyrillic. Rays of the nimbus with small defects, one piece of the painting broken off. Oklad not opened. Dimensions 32 x 26 cm.
