A Persian khanjar with walrus handle, 19th century Strongly curved wootz blade with heavy ridges on both sides and a hunting scene engraved at the base with remnants of gilding (pitted in places). Typically indented grip of walrus ivory, richly carved with inscription cartouches, portrait medallions and figures (broken in the middle, somewhat shrunken). Wrapped red cord. In a wooden scabbard covered with Chargrin leather (place broken off, defects on the back). Length 37 cm. Condition: II -
