A silver-mounted barong from the Philippines, 19th century Sturdy, broad single-edged blade in the shape of a leaf, with characters(?) stamped on the obverse side at the base. Finely worked silver ferrule of silver and silver filigree. Finely carved wooden grip with floral cut finials (slightly chipped). Two-piece wooden scabbard (minor restoration) with finely woven rattan bands. Length 65.5 cm. Condition: II
