Two Chinese dao, circa 1900 and late 20th century Typically shaped single-edged blades, one with a single, the other with a double fuller. The older dao with iron guard plate and rounded pommel, grip winding missing. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with blackened iron mountings. Length 97 cm. The second dao with a white metal guard and canoe and a waffled wooden grip. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with white metal mountings and brass carrying device. Length 80 cm. Various signs of age and use, blades spotted and slightly pitted in places. Condition: II - III
