A Japanese tanto, circa 1450
Blade Hira Tsukuri, Mu Zori, Hoso Suguha Hamon, Boshi and Hada plastered, Kizu on Mune and Ji. Nakago ubu, corroded with a mekugi ana and kiri-yasurime copper habaki, inscribed "Yasutsugu" (c. 1452, 20 p. YAS 513). The hamon shape suggests Omi Yasutsugu. Corroded sukashi tsuba. Koshirae, late Edo period, fuchi from Shibuichi with decoration of bridge and boat, kashira with decoration of temple and rocks, each partly gilt, one shishi menuki, defective brown binding over seed. Rubbed nigurome kotsuka with waves and shidori. Worn black ishimelacksaya with iron dragon kojiri. Length K/M 28.6 cm, total length 49 cm.
