An Indonesian keris with ebony handle, Bali, circa 1900
Straight pamor blade with cut root. Mendak set with fine rubies, merging into selut with cabochons of garnet, agate and labradorite, among others, above the figuratively carved and lavishly gold and silver-inlaid ebony handle. Curved wrangka on one side, the ebony scabbard covered en suite with gold and silver mountings and set with rubies and sapphires, the sides bordered by florally engraved edge reinforcements. Slightly bumped in places, the stitching minimally detached in places. Length 62.5 cm.
