Three Ethiopian edged weapons, circa 1900
A Shotel with a broad, curved, double fullered, double-edged blade, wooden guard and pommel, rhinoceros horn grip. Length 73 cm. Two sabres with typically shaped wooden Shotel hilts and curved blades, one blade with full floral etching and Amharic inscription, the pommel decorated with a heavily rubbed Maria Theresa taler. Length 98 and 99 cm.
