Six African and Asian weapons, circa 1900
Two African swords with chased, curved blades (rusty) and offset, leather-covered hilts and scabbards. Length ca. 62 cm each. A mandau with a sturdy single-edged blade engraved on the obverse side, a handle of deer antler and a wooden scabbard richly decorated with animal teeth. The by-knife with a papier-mâché handle. Length 75 cm. Also a jambia (traces of oxidation and rust) with leather scabbard (length 54 cm), a sword with curved, slightly rusty blade and horn grip (length 70 cm) and an African axe with wooden blade and figuratively carved handle (length 68 cm).
