A French pillow sword, circa 1730
Double-edged single-edged blade with broad fullers at the point, containing two grooves, etched in the lower third. "Half" hilt with a guard ring on the obverse side with chiselled balusters and a finely pierced guard plate (small defects), the knucklebow cut en suite and a lightly engraved iron grip. Oval pommel with a small riveted pommel. Surfaces lightly spotted in places. Length 85.5 cm.
