Ernst von Barth zu Harmating - a Commander's Cross of the Order of the Crown of Italy and a photo of it's bearer, circa 1900 Golden neck cross, multi-colored enamelled, on the collar ring, Remnants of the collar present. In a red velvet case made by Cravanzola, Rome, with a gold lid imprint of the ruler's cipher "U" under a crown for King Umberto I (1878 - 1900). Width of the cross 51 mm, weight 25 g. Comes with the photo (dimensions 16.5 x 11 cm) of the recipient of the order. According to the Bavarian Military Handbook of 1907, Ernst von Barth zu Harmating (former Chief of the General Staff) was the bearer of the order.
