A fascine knife M 1816 for foot artillery men
Double-edged gladius blade with triple fullers on both sides (pitted), the maker's etching "Manufre R. du Klingenthal / Janv. 1818" at the base, oval acceptance marks. Heavy brass cross hilt with scaled grip and stamped "488", the Bourbon lily on both sides of the pommel. Brass-studded leather scabbard (locket loosely attached, suspension loop missing, crack above the locket). Partially damaged, signs of age. Length 67 cm.
