A helmet M 1872 for dragoon troopers, two breastplates and a backplate
Iron helmet body (corroded) with brass mountings, black horsehair tail, side-mounted plume in the national colors, ochre leather flap lining (later replaced), leather trimmed in the neck guard, missing chinscales. Comes with two heavy cuirass breastplates M 1855 (without lining), on the undersides inside the maker's signature of Chatellerault 1859 with "No. 1471" as well as the signature of Chatellerault 1865 with "No. 1032". Also a spine with Chatellerault signature 1912, belly strap later incorrectly replaced. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age.
