A French M 1831 fascine knife
Double-edged gladius blade (stained), the plastered maker's mark "...OT FS ...IS" (Talabot Fs Paris) at the base. Massive one-piece brass cross hilt (darkened), stamped on the quillons with acceptance marks (plastered) and "1850". Black leather scabbard with brass mountings. Signs of use and age. Length 67 cm.
