A sword M 1882 for officers of the infantry
Sturdy, nickel-plated blade of biconvex cross-section (rubbed, traces of rust), the maker's signature "Manufacture nationale d'armes de Chatellerault Avril 1909 Offer. d'Infrie Mle 1882" at the top. Nickel silver knuckle-bow hilt (somewhat loose) with horn grip and replaced wire winding. Black refinished steel scabbard (partially pitted) with movable suspension ring. The monogram "CH" on the grip cap. Slightly damaged, signs of age. Length 102 cm.
