A Royal Navy Midshipman's Dirk, 20th century
Nickel-plated single-edged blade with rich etching on both sides and a central point, the maker's signature "Manton & Co. England" on the root. Brass hilt with anchor symbol and lion's head pommel, brown leather-covered grip with wire winding. Black leather scabbard, brass mountings. Locking spring does not engage, signs of use and age. Length 62 cm.
