A sabre for officers of the mounted troops, mid-19th century
Slightly curved single-edged blade with fullers on both sides (slightly stained) and a double-edged central point (back edge), decorative etching (floral scrolls) on both sides of the upper quarter. Iron knucklebow hilt with two fullers and a sling slot, leather finger loop around the base of the blade and through the guard plate, chequering grip (minor defects) with triple wire winding. Bright iron scabbard (somewhat stained, small dents and holes in the area) with two brass suspension rings and ring straps. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Length 100 cm. Unusual details.
