A helmet for enlisted men in the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Grenadier Regiment No. 89, circa 1900 Assembled, partly incorrect. Black lacquered leather body (crackled) with a round peak, gilt non-ferrous metal fittings and dark brown leather flap lining. Gilt star emblem with applied coat of arms medallion in nickel silver. The plate with four round-headed pintles and a short, smooth chequering, the neck guard without a vent. Leather strap on button M 91, coloured lacquered iron cockades (Reich and Prussia). Partially slightly damaged, signs of age. Condition: II
