A helmet for guards infantry men/NCOs
Assembled. Black lacquered leather skull (crackled, rear seam open on one side) with gilt non-ferrous metal mountings (rubbed). Screwed emblem in the shape of the broad grenadier eagle with applied nickel-silver guard star (double holes). Flat, leather-lined metal chinscales on rosettes, cockades of lacquered sheet metal (non-commissioned officer/officer). Fixed, smooth point on plate with four round-headed cotter pins. Lining missing, old size designation "54" on the inside. Incomplete, partially damaged, signs of age.
