A Prussian knapsack, late 18th/early 19th century
Rough calfskin bag (rubbed). Carrying and fastening straps made of white leather. Two iron pin buckles. Bag lid inside and carrying strap stamped "3472", with an old discovery stamp ("Kön. Schauspiel"). Partially damaged, repairs, signs of age. Bag width approx. 30 cm. Cf. Merta, Die Uniformierung, Berlin 2001, p. 74.
