August Euler (1868 - 1957) - a dedicated copy of the booklet "Deutschlands Flugzeugführer Nr. 1" to Major der Fliegertruppe Felix Lauterbach 1939 Booklet no. 12 from "Deutsche Luftwacht - Ausgabe Luftwelt" from December 1938 with 26 pages and numerous illustrations about the aviation pioneer and first holder of an airplane pilot's license August Euler. The inside cover with Euler's handwritten and signed dedication "Meinem lieben Schüler und Kameraden Herrn Major der Fliegertruppe Felix Lauterbach", dated "Feldberg, 6. Mai 1939". Cover somewhat torn at the spine. Enclosed a photo with 25 portraits of the first German aviators before the outbreak of the First World War, on the back another dedication and signature by Euler "Meinem Lauterbach - August Euler 20/XI 38" as well as 17 further signatures, some of them by aviators such as Ernst von Schimpff or Otto Lindpaintner. August Euler founded the Euler-Flugmaschinenwerke in 1908, obtained the first German pilot's license in 1910 and produced mainly replicas of Voisin or Nieuport aircraft before and during the First World War, while his own developments mostly remained in the experimental stage. Between 1910 and 1918, he trained 75 pilots, including Prince Henry of Prussia, mostly on his training aircraft Euler B I and B II. Rare autographs. Condition: II -
