A German flintlock shotgun with Spanish barrel, circa 1760
Octagonal barrel merging to round after a baluster, smooth bore made by Diego Esquibel (Madrid, mentioned 1694 - 1732) in 15.5 mm caliber, with a silver-filled mark and the date "Anno 1719" on the breech. Flintlock with chiselled frizzen spring and cambered lock plate. Florally carved half stock with bone nose cap and engraved bone inlays on the side of the lock, brass furniture, wooden trigger guard and finger rest. Wooden ramrod with bone tip. Signs of age and use. Length 130 cm. Weapon in almost untouched condition.
