A cased side-by-side percussion shotgun by Carlucci e Antoni, Naples, circa 1850
SN. without, side-by-side 75 cm barrels with matt bore. Bead sight. Complete, spotted original bluing. Reverse percussion locks with action typical for southern Italy (similar to the Miquelet lock). Simple vine engravings. Iron furniture. The bright metal parts spotted, some slight traces of corrosion. Dark colored walnut half stock with strong signs of age and use. Piston compartment on right side of butt stock. Original, slightly damaged wooden ramrod. The muzzle-side ramrod whistle missing. Mechanically in good order. Length approx. 114 cm.
In a contemporary, unattached wooden case with brass fittings, on the inside of the lid a manufacturer's label probably applied later. Heavy damage to the compartments. Wooden body with defects and repairs, cracks along the grain, especially in the lid. Replaced accessories such as shot pouch, original bullet tongs and incomplete cleaning rod. Key included. Dimensions 82x24.5x8 cm.
