Treatise on classical architecture written by Fontaine's father-in-law (posthumously). Very rare collection of 3 treatises originally published separately. These treatises were intended for young men from good families, destined to blossom between military and artistic glory. The author was an architect and teacher at Versailles at the end of the Ancien Régime. The book offers a course in perspective applied to buildings and landscapes, complete with an interesting dictionary of technical terms for neophytes. Charles Dupuis is an interesting example of the last attempts to resist new ideas at the end of the 18th century.
