JEAURAT Traité de Perspective à l'usage des artistes. Paris, Charles-Antoine Jombert, 1750. In-4°, vi pp - (1 ff nch d'approbation) - 240 pp - (1 ff banc) and 119 plates numbered I to C, engraved full-page as well as 2 vignettes by Soubeyran and 56 culs-de-lampe by Babel, Cochin and Marvye. Bound in full contemporary marbled basane, 5-ribbed spine, red title page (jaws cracked, headpieces missing, defects to caissons). First edition of this treatise on perspective, divided into 116 mathematical lessons. The plates are numbered from 1 to 100, and 19 are repeated, as the text of the lesson is spread over two pages. The author, in his great delicacy, preferred to reproduce the figure so that the reader could always benefit from both the text and the facing image.
Our copy does not include the ten plates representing the five orders of architecture and the shadows cast at the end of the volume, which are not included in all copies.
