Enriched with the "Plan topographique de Rome moderne", dated 1841, in its enriched version with views and figures, mounted on the upper flyleaf. Bound in contemporary half-brown calf, wear to head and foot of spine, 5 cm split at foot, otherwise very good condition. A rare first version of this monument to modern Roman architecture, the work was not published in its definitive version until 13 years later, and went through numerous editions until the end of the 20th century.
