An infantry musket, 2nd half 18th century
Octagonal barrel merging to round, smooth bore in 17.8 mm caliber, later stamped "G.MEGGIS.No.8." above the breech. Flintlock. Full stock with iron furniture. Iron ramrod. Iron parts spotted and with traces of corrosion in places, retaining spring of one barrel band defective, upper barrel band replaced, forearm with crack and repairs. Signs of age and use. Length 144 cm.
