Cal. 17.1 mm. All metal parts in their original tan, lightened for the barrel and with a small gray patina for the lock, hammer and trigger guard. Smooth round barrel with thunderbolt flanks, bearing sight and rear sight, thunderbolt stamped, on the upper flank "B" in cursive lettering in an oval for Lieutenant Colonel BERGIER, controller and inspector general from 1818 to 1823. Flintlock lock marked "Manuf. Roy. de Maubeuge" hallmarked "C" under crown for Jean-Nicaise COMPAS, controller from 1818 to 1824. Beautiful walnut stock with short, finely checkered shaft, hallmarked "C" under crown, "8" (twice) and "16". Copper-plated brass fittings. Whalebone ramrod with copper-plated brass tips. Functional mechanism with two clear, play-free cocking notches. Clean inside barrel. Complete.
