France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Rare model 1874 regulation revolver, known as "du modèle" for officers, by Manufacture d'Armes de St Étienne, 1884. Cal. 11 mm. 6 shots. Serial no. "N 33516". All metal parts in their original black tan, hammer, loading door, trigger and ramrod in their original lightened yellowed finish. All parts to the same no. Markings on the barrel "Mle 1874" and on the frame "Mre d'Armes de St Étienne". The barrel is dated "S. 1884" and bears the control marks "R" in a circle for the MAS director (Colonel ROBERT 1882 to 1891) and "T" in a circle for the principal controller. Cylinder with six recesses, common to all chambers for model 1870 N & 1873 M cartridges, and crowned "E" proof mark. Finely checkered walnut stock plates and ring cap. Functional single- and double-action mechanism, with two clear, play-free cocking notches. Clean barrel interior with good scratches. Complete. 24 cm (barrel 11.1 cm). (Very good condition). Weapon classified in category "D" of decree no. 2023-557 of July 3, 2023, free to acquire and hold.
