Cavalerie Légère model 1822 troop saber by Manufacture Royale de Klingenthal, reused under the 3rd Republic (1870-1940) and with the same number.
Cast brass mount with two secondary arms. Cap with bead surmounted by a riveted dome-button and short tail, curved beak plate, no visible hallmark. Strung wooden spindle covered with brass filigree basane. The main guard is stamped "1076". Natural leather tie. Beautiful white, slightly curved blade with hollow sides and flat back with "Manufacture Royale de Klingenthal Juin 1823" marking on the back and traces of a hallmark on the heel (worn). Steel scabbard with white polished finish, with 1 suspension ring (IIIrd Republic model), also stamped "1076" and traces of control marks.
