CHASSEPOT model 1866 infantry rifle from the Manufacture Impériale de Mutzig.
Cal. 11 mm. Serial no. "D 82642". All metal parts with small stained gray patina, to the same number. Breechcase marked "MANUFACTURE IMPERIALE Mutzig - Mle 1866". Barrel dated "MI "M. 1868" and stamped "AF" and "C" crowned in a circle and "M" crowned in a circle. Walnut stock with the same number and "C. M. Jer 1869" and its boxwood pastille hallmarked "MI , and good control marks. Steel rod present, not the same n°. Functional mechanism, needle present, inside of barrel mirrored with shallow scratches.

It comes with a chassepot bayonet model 1866, without scabbard, IIIème République (1870-1940) from Manufacture d'armes de St Étienne Avril 1874. (Fairly good condition).
