Artillery officer's saber model 1822/99 from the Klingenthal factory.
Cast brass mounting with two secondary branches decorated with palmettes at the base, cap with dome-button bead and short tail edged with a garland of laurel leaves. Handle in brown horn with brass filigree. Guard plate ending in a beak decorated with a 7-branched palmette topped by 2 small acanthus leaves arranged in a cross. Leather tie. Slightly curved, white blade with flat back and "Manufacture de Klingenthal" (?) marking on the back (partly legible). Nickel-plated and oxidized steel scabbard with one suspension ring and asymmetrical stinger. Comes with regulation brown leather strap.
