Souvenir of the RIF campaign, 1920-25, Colonial helmet officer model 1915 of the 15th Regt de Tirailleurs Algériens.
Privately made locally in Morocco, in cork and coated canvas with mustard camouflage paint applied by brush over the original horizon blue paint. Crescent-shaped front badge topped by the embossed number "15". Black leather inner cap in 2 parts with 6 wolf's teeth, original mounted. Chinstrap missing. Presence of a handwritten name tag in the inner cap. Worn. (Wear and minor accidents. Good condition).
Note: The 15th R.T.A. was formed in Morocco in 1920, under the command of General Lyautey, and distinguished itself during the OUERGHA battle (April - July 1925) by containing the Rifa troops led by Abd el-Krim.
