Model 1845 infantry officer's saber.
Gilt brass frame with openwork wrap-around guard, stamped with the monogram VR under crown for Victoria Regina (Queen Victoria 1838-1901). Wooden buttstock sheathed in fine basane with triple filigree. Leather tie. White blade with hollow front and flat back, engraved with the monogram "VR" under crown on both sides. On the heel, "PROVED" warranty mark on one side. Brass scabbard with two suspension rings, asymmetrical stinger. Comes with a gold-trimmed pompom strap.
