Chair clock (Stoelklok), northern Netherlands (Friesland), 2nd half of the 18th century. Sea-woman clock. Sawn wooden chair with old paint, pewter appliqués with heraldic and ornamental motifs and coats of arms. Appliqués partly dam. Sheet metal dial/front with polychrome folk painting. Painting. Pierced/sawed brass hands with alarm disc, weight-driven brass movement with verge escapement, rear pendulum, striking and alarm mechanism, strike on bell. Original condition somewhat altered. Function not guaranteed. H. 74.5 cm. Wall clock, north Netherlands/ Friesland, 2nd half 18th ct. Wooden stool with old polychromic paint, pendulum movement with weights, strike on bell, alarm. Original condition slightly changed. No proof of function. H. 74,5 cm.
