Chair clock (Stoelklok), northern Netherlands (Friesland), 2nd half of the 18th century. Wooden chair with rocaille ornaments, painted, altered coloring. Pewter appliqués in openwork tendrils, heraldic lions with coats of arms. Sheet metal front with two heraldic lions on the sides, dial painted with two cherubs on a fire bowl. Cast brass hands with alarm disc, hands repaired (?), weight-driven brass movement with rear pendulum, going and alarm train, strike on bell. Anobia holes, paint and original condition somewhat altered. H. 70 cm. Wall clock, north Netherlands, 2nd half 18th ct. pendulum movement with weights, strike on bell, alarm. No proof of function. Original condition sligtly changed. H. 70 cm.
